MINUTES OF THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION
AUGUST 8, 2019

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting of the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission (County Planning) was called to order by Vice-Chair Councilperson Sunny Simon and the roll call showed a quorum was present.

MINUTES
On a motion by Councilperson Simon, seconded by Mayor Sellers, the minutes of the June 13, 2019 meeting were duly adopted by unanimous vote.

Councilperson Simon introduced the newest board member Mr. Michael Dever, Director of Public Works appointed by Executive Budish.

RESOLUTIONS
On a motion by Mayor Gammella, seconded by Mr. Dever, Resolution 190808-A, conditional approval of Master Subdivision Plan and Preliminary Plan (Phase 1) of The Sanctuary and The Preserve Planned Residential District (PRD) located in Olmsted Township, was passed with a unanimous vote.

On a motion by Mayor Sellers, seconded by Mr. Dever, Resolution 190808-B, authorization to enter into a contract with the City of Rocky River for a new zoning map and development code updates, was passed with a unanimous vote.

On a motion by Mayor Sellers, seconded by Mr. Dever, Resolution 190808-C, authorization to enter into a contract with the City of Bay Village for a Zoning Update, was passed with a unanimous vote.

On a motion by Mayor Brennan, seconded by Mr. Dever, Resolution 190808-D, authority to administer funds for the Solar Guidebook, was passed with a unanimous vote.

On a motion by Mayor Procuk, seconded by Mr. Sellers, Resolution 190808-E, authority to serve as administrator and fiscal agent for The Cuyahoga County Healthy Urban Tree Canopy Grant Program, was passed with a unanimous vote.

On a motion by Mayor Sellers, seconded by Mayor Brennan, Resolution 190808-F, approval of proposed updates to the Compensation Administration Policy was tabled with a unanimous vote.

CHAIR’S REPORT
Councilperson Simon reported that interviews for County Planning Director will be Monday, August 12th and Tuesday, August 13th. The committee of Mayor Brennan, Mayor DiCicco and Mayor Bobst narrowed down the candidates to seven (7) and will be coming back to the Board with recommendations.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Ms. Susan Infeld, Interim Executive Director, reported that the Community Planning Grants were awarded to Middleburg Heights for a Master Plan, Brooklyn Heights for a Master Plan, South Euclid will receive a form-based zoning along the Mayfield Road corridor, East Cleveland for a parks and green space plan, and Solon for a trail and recreation plan.

EXECUTIVE SESSION
A motion was made by Mayor Gammella, seconded by Mayor Brennan, to move into executive session to discuss Personnel issues at 2:55 p.m. Roll call was taken, and all voted unanimously.

A motion was made by Mayor Gammella, seconded by Mr. Dever to adjourn executive session at 3:16 p.m. and the vote was unanimous.

ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Councilperson Simon to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mayor Sellers. All voted unanimously.

The next meeting to be held will be September 12, 2019.
