MINUTES OF THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION

June 8, 2017

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting of the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission (County Planning) was called to order by Mr. Kelly and the roll call showed a quorum was present.

MINUTES
On a motion by Mayor Procuk, seconded by Mayor DiCicco, the minutes of the April 13, 2017 meeting was duly adopted by unanimous vote.        `

RESOLUTIONS
On a motion by Mayor Procuk, seconded by Mayor Bobst, Resolution 170608-A, approval of an NRAC Administrative Services Contract for Fiscal year 2017-2018, was duly adopted by unanimous vote.

On a motion by Mayor Kleem, seconded by Mayor Bobst, Resolution 170608-B, approval of a Planning Services Agreement with Mayfield Village for a Community Survey, was duly adopted by unanimous vote.

Councilperson Brown arrived at the meeting.

On a motion by Mayor Procuk, seconded by Mayor DiCicco, Resolution 170608-C, approval of a Planning Services Agreement with the City of Brecksville for a Community Survey, was duly adopted by unanimous vote.

Councilperson Simon arrived at the meeting.

On a motion by all the board members, approval of Resolution 170608-D, Appreciation for Claire Kilbane was duly adopted by unanimous vote.

CHAIR’S REPORT
James Sonnhalter introduced new employees: Planner, Rachel Novak and summer interns Natalie Finn, Paul Ginty, Olivia Helander and Pat McMahon.

Jennifer Karaffa presented a current year fiscal report and the 2018 budget forecast. It was noted that the 2017 expected outside revenue receipts would not be met. One of the reasons for this is because the master plan grant funds are no longer a direct contract with Department of Development but program funds are now included as part of the general fund subsidy.

The communities that were awarded a planning grant in 2017 are Brecksville, Maple Heights, Mayfield Village, Parma, and Strongsville which is funding a portion of their comprehensive master plan.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Mr. Kelly announced that the next scheduled meeting will be on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.

ADJOURNMENT
With there being no old business, or new business, Councilperson Brown motioned to adjourn the meeting, the motion was seconded by Councilperson Simon.

SOLID WASTE COMMITTEE MEETING

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting of the Solid Waste Committee was called to order by Mr. Kelly. Mr. Mathias joined the meeting as a member of the Solid Waste Committee.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Diane Bickett gave the District Policy Committee Report with a power point presentation.

Jessica Fenos reported on the 2016 residential recycling report.

ADJOURNMENT
Councilperson Simon motioned to adjourn the meeting, the motion was seconded by Councilperson Brown.
