Cuyahoga County Land Development Regulations
County Planning has the authority, per Ohio Revised Code Section 711.09, to regulate how land is subdivided, and subsequently developed, in unincorporated areas of Cuyahoga County, i.e. townships.
County Planning, in collaboration with the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works, the Cuyahoga County Soil and Water Conservation District and the County Prosecutor’s Office and Township Trustees oversee compliance with the regulations.
The Land Development Regulations cover two topics:
- SUB-DIVISION OF LAND
The division of a parcel of land into more than 2 parcels, sites or lots for the purpose of residential, commercial or industrial structure(s). - WATER MANAGEMENT AND SEDIMENT CONTROL REGULATIONS
To abate soil erosion and prevent the degradation of the waters of the State from sediment caused by construction and to implement Phase II of the Storm water Program part of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).
To submit a subdivision plan, see the application forms and fee schedule.
