Celebrating Clean Transportation
Yesterday, we participated in the 2016 EarthFest celebration at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds.
The theme of this year’s event was clean transportation, and we offered a few ways for people to think about how they get around. The photo above shows our mapping exercise. We asked visitors to place a dot on their home, with the color indicating how they traveled to the event. The blue dots represent people who drove, the red dots show people who biked, and the green ones are for those who used public transit.
We also had an activity for younger visitors. We created a do-it-yourself complete street, and gave children the chance to lay out a street with automobile and truck lanes, bus lanes, and bicycle lanes. Some of them had very creative ideas for improving connectivity.
Thanks to everybody who stopped by our table. We had a great time and hope you did, too.
