Marie Gallo
Mayor, City of Parma Heights
Mayor Marie Gallo is the first female Mayor of Parma Heights. She brings 18 years of legislative and administrative experience to the residents of Parma Heights.
After graduating from Holy Name High School in 1997, Marie went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Baldwin-Wallace University. She then achieved her Municipal Clerk Certification, enhancing her knowledge of the legislative process and the rules and laws that govern city council. She served as Clerk of Council for the cities of North Olmsted and Parma Heights. She was a Parma Heights council member for over a decade and served four consecutive terms as Council President. She still maintains her Municipal Clerk Certification.
In 2016, Marie was promoted to Director of Human Resources for the City of North Olmsted where she assisted with the oversight of over 200 full-time employees and multiple city departments including police, fire and service. In addition to negotiating labor contracts and advising the Mayor and Directors on personnel issues, she also oversaw the Senior Center, Division of Youth and Family Services, Division of Information Technology, and the Building Department. She served in this capacity until she took office as mayor on January 1, 2021.
